Not a very common shape to see in the heavens, this is the Red Rectangle Nebula.

Went to the #PaintedHall, Old Royal Naval College, #Greenwich… He created this incredible image by stitching 5 photos together. The reflection is caused by a mirrored table in the room which is designed to help you see the amazing ceiling that took 19 years to paint. It was commissioned by Sir Christopher Wren & Nicholas Hawksmoor, and painted by Sir James Thornhill (the guy who painted St. Paul’s cathedral ceiling). // The hall is going to undergo renovations for the next 3 years starting at the end of September, so there’s very little time left to see it without works going on! Go go! 👌🏼🇬🇧 || #thisislondon http://ift.tt/2csJh8g
